They work hard at accomplishing an <strong><em>"Excellent",</em></strong> <strong><em>"Good", "Worthy", or "Cloverbud"</em></strong> award for each project that they display.<br /><br /><strong>The comments</strong> from qualified judges are important, and the youth may learn the proper procedures, or easier techniques in preparing their exhibits. Judging helps the exhibitor see what they may need to do to improve their work and see in what areas they excel.<br /><br /><strong>To teach</strong> "Good Sportsmanship".<br /><br /><strong>To help educate</strong> the fairgoers about how enjoyable it was to accomplish their goal, recieve a beautiful ribbon, and show that they had a great time at the fair!<br /><br />The Youth Building will display exhibits that were made, constructed or grown by any youth ages 5 to 19, of Cortland County. Items offered for display and evaluation would be examples of the youth's very best work that was completed during the past year.<br />Clothing, crafts, creative writing, posters, childcare development, vegetables, flowers and plants, food and baking, computer programming and more!<br /><br />Cortland Junior Fair also has animal shows for dairy cows, dairy goats, pigs, meat goats, sheep, beef, horses, poultry, turkeys, rabbits and cavy along with beautiful horticulture plants and windowboxes. <br /><br />Along with youth exhibiting the fairboard creates upcoming entertainment weeklong, such as FairQueen contest, Talent Showcase, zucchini car race, pig races, motorcycle and car shows and agriculture awareness each day at the Ag. Tent.
